Made from the finest merino wool, Wool-Sisters is a voluminous and soft yarn with a slightly felted made using the Reggae felting technology.  It has a narrow band-like single-ply construction and works up at a sport weight.

Schoppel Wolle’s distinctive Reggae felting technique is a specialized manufacturing process developed to give the yarn its wonderfully light, airy structure and characteristic texture.

During production, the 100% virgin wool is gently and only partially felted, allowing the outer fibers to lightly interlock while preserving the loft and softness of the yarn. The result is a yarn that has a subtly pre-felted, cohesive appearance while remaining remarkably lightweight and voluminous.

This special treatment gives Reggae felted yarns several wonderful qualities. The yarn feels full and substantial without being heavy, and its lightly felted surface creates a soft, rustic matte texture with excellent stitch definition. Because the fibers are gently bonded at the surface, the yarn is also far less prone to splitting while knitting or crocheting than many traditional single-ply wool yarns.
